AWS Parallel Computing Service (PCS)

  • Timebilled
  • Bytesbilled
  • Unitsnot billed

In one line

An hourly controller fee plus a per-node management fee, both stacked on top of the EC2 bill.

What gets missed

The node management fee rides on every EC2 instance the cluster launches, on a standard or advanced tier depending on the instance. The controller bills hourly with an empty queue, and Slurm accounting adds its own.

Find it on your bill

Filter Cost Explorer or your Cost and Usage Report by these usage types. A usage type with no region prefix means us-east-1.
