Amazon Elastic File System (EFS)

  • Timebilled
  • Bytesbilled
  • Callsnot billed

In one line

Storage is half of it. Under Elastic throughput every GB you read or write is metered too.

What gets missed

Elastic throughput meters data both directions, not just reads. IA and Archive add a per-GB access fee, and files under 128 KiB bill as 128 KiB — a floor on small files, not a rounding rule.

Find it on your bill

Filter Cost Explorer or your Cost and Usage Report by these usage types. A usage type with no region prefix means us-east-1.

Bills the same way

These services turn exactly the same meters, so what you learn here transfers.
