ひとことで言うと

Compute-hours that queries actually consume, plus GB-month of stored data. Both have a free allowance.

見落とすところ

Legacy (no console, and DynamoDB superseded it) but an existing domain keeps billing. Compute meters the time a query consumes, not the request count, so one unindexed scan costs more than thousands of key reads.
